Olympic logos from 1924 to 2012.
As you may gather, I've become a tad obssessed by the Olympics this year. I came across this link, showcasing the Olympic logos from 1924 to 2012. Some good, some very bad...my fave is by far the Mexico 1968 games, maybe because the retro style has bacome fashionable in recent years, but I just love the type, and this identity seems so much more adventurous than others.

It's interesting to see the differences and cultural references in each olympic logo - such as the utilisation of stars for Los Angeles 1984, to mirror the US flag.
The earliest logos are pretty dull aren't they?? Especially pre-1960. The symbolic figure used for Barcelona 1992, Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008 are very similar, which I quite like. It brings a sort of unity to the games and the olympic brand, whilst still differentiating between countries.
Although I think the London 2012 logo is an improvement on London 1948 (just!), it doesn't sit very well alongside its predecessors, in my opinion.
